The Board of Governors

The governing body helps the school deliver the best education and welfare for your children. We work with the Headteacher and her talented team to set the direction of the school and monitor how the school is being run. It is a strategic role so we don’t get involved in the day to day running of the school.

We visit the school regularly to see the children and staff. We assist in any decisions that need to be made about the children, staff and buildings.

Two to three times a year all governors visit the school for the whole day. This helps us see the school on a working day. We are looking for what is being done well and what could be improved.

We meet as governors once a term and we also are split into two committees covering Curriculum and Resources. We look over things such a pupil progress and how money is being spent.

We are all volunteers and most of us have had children at the school at some time or another. Many of us are parents of children at the school today. The governing body is very much part of the community and this means we are committed to making Mildmay Infants and Nursery the best it can be.
