The Pupil Premium is allocated to schools for children of statutory school age from low-income families who are known to be eligible, or have been for the last 6 years, for Free school meals (FSM) in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings : to children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months and to children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces.
Pupil Premium provides funding and focus for our school, setting the achievement of children from disadvantaged backgrounds as a priority.
We understand that gaps in attainment are challenging to close because causes are entrenched and complex. However the evidence is clear that good teaching is the most important lever schools have to improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils, and so this remains our primary focus.
Please see our Pupil Premium Strategy for more information.
